What people say about SMN
Svend is a Dane who came to the UK in 1981 and worked his way up in some of the largest media and event businesses in the country, including Express Newspapers and Thomson Reuters.
In 2001 he got involved as a volunteer Commercial Manager with Bedford Athletic RUFC. By using the skills and techniques acquired from his professional career he was instrumental in turning around the fortunes of that club. Danish Lunches, Ladies Lunches, Corporate Sevens and email campaigns all helped make the club vibrant, visible and viable.
Sharing ideas and experiences with volunteers from their opposing clubs he realised the need for a network where people from acoss sport and active leisure could share ideas on how to improve community involvement, communication, commercial development and create more welcoming experiences...
hence the Sports Marketing Network.
